Established for the 2024 season, the Forest Park Combined Indoor Drumline (FPC) is a competitive indoor percussion ensemble that competes in the Percussion Scholastic A class in the Atlantic Indoor Association and Winter Guard International circuits. Presently, FPC is the only competitive indoor drumline in Prince William County and membership is open to all PWCS students who complete our audition process.
What is an Indoor Drumline?
An indoor drumline is a competitive marching music ensemble similar to a marching band. Instead of performing and competing on a football field in the summer/fall, indoor drumlines perform in basketball gyms/arenas in the winter/spring. They often use vinyl tarps/floors and custom uniforms designed to help enhance the show design.
There are generally two sections of an indoor drumline: the battery on the floor, and the front ensemble. In some cases, groups will utilize a visual ensemble or instrumental soloists to enhance their program.
