Sub Plans – 2/2/2018
On your own, compose a four-measure melody in 4/4 or 6/8 time in the key of your choice. Melodies should move mostly in step-wise motion, with some skips or leaps optional, and should consist of rhythms we’ve used in class. Once completed, the melodies can be played using the piano at the front of the room and used to practice dictation with the rest of the class. Each example should be played three or four times at the discretion of the composer.
Please have each student turn in their completed composition and dictations from their peers at the end of class. If there is time remaining, the Quizlet link below can be used to begin reviewing vocabulary. Some of this vocabulary will be unfamiliar, but this is a good start. There are also Sight-Singing practice examples below.
