the only thing better than the weather this week was the attitude and work ethic of the band. With your hard work we have a completed show. We can now begin working on ways to make ourselves better. Congratulations. Thank you to all the parents for allowing us to work on our show while you worried about keeping us hydrated and fed..

Bruin Band named a Virginia Honor Band
The Forest Park High School Bruin Band was named a Commonwealth of Virginia Honor Band for the 2009-2010 school year. The award is presented to schools whose Marching Band and top Concert Ensemble both receive Superior Ratings at the State Performance Assessment (Festival). this is the 7th time Forest Park has been so honored. Additionally, our department received the Blue Ribbon Award from the Virginia Music Educators Association for having our Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Consort Orchestra all receive Superior Ratings.
