As mentioned in the previous post about Empyrean Winds, the time has come for the marching arts to move inside! Thanks to the hard work and dedication from Ms. C.L. Gaffney, our wonderful new Color Guard Director, we are reinstating the Forest Park Winter Guard! This is a wonderful opportunity for our current color guard members to keep their performing skills sharp and to introduce new members to the world of color guard! If you think you may be interested in performing with the Forest Park Winter Guard, we will have an interest/information meeting on Tuesday, November 8th at 6:00 pm in the band room at Forest Park. We will discuss things like rehearsal/performance schedules, expectations of performing members, and anything else you can think of related to the Winter Guard.
For all percussionists (or aspiring percussionists!), Woodbridge High School has hosted students from the Forest Park Bands in their indoor drumline nearly every year since its inception back in 2012. They will have their interest/information meeting on Monday, November 7th at 7:00 pm in the choir room at Woodbridge High School. Anyone who is interested in performing with the combined indoor drumline at Woodbridge should make sure they are at that meeting. Mr. Ro has been involved with that program as a charter member, and regular staff member for the ensemble’s entire existence, and he would be glad to answer any questions you may have!
